Specialty camps June 18 - June 22, 2018

 

The morning choices include:

Engineering Camp:

Enter into the fascinating world of robotics. In this exciting STEAM program, students will design, build and test their very own robots under the guidance of an experienced AES instructor. Projects include remote control cars, claws, cranes, crawlers, and battle bots. Educational components include gear ratios, mechanical design, electronics, and robotics engineering. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to have fun, build, and learn. Each student will receive an award on the last day of the session, and have the opportunity to earn Energy Belts to demonstrate their learned skills! 



Sports Camp:

Learn new skills, improve on existing strengths, and challenge yourself in different team sports led by Chai Athletics! Participants will spend the start of the session working on drills and skills that can help them become a better player in different sports such as, basketball, baseball, football, and more. Campers will also learn about the difficulties of competition as they play in different mini-tournaments within the week. 

 


Performing Arts Camp: (for girls only)

A one-week course in the art of ballroom dancing and other performing art activities. Campers will learn professional techniques from Katya Kapelnikova who has been teaching and performing for over 30 years. With a focus on ballroom dancing, this course will teach new skills and instill confidence for various performing arts, including singing, drama, and improv.

Mad Science Camp:                                                                      
Join Mad Science in exploring some of the many fields of scientific study in a fun way! We will learn about and discuss physics, chemistry, space, animals and more in a series of hands on classes. Each day will focus on multiple topics as well as have a cool project to take home!  Led by Mad Science of Northern Illinois staff.

Self Defense Camp:
Learn the art of balancing, coordination and self-defense skills from the talented instructors at Kogan Self-Defense. Campers will have the opportunity to learn brand new skills while engaging in group activities and exercises that are tailored to their own level of experience. 

Creative Arts camp:
A journey through art led by Mrs. Rivkah Hershkovich, experienced preschool teacher, this course will lead campers to discover a multitude of art techniques using different art mediums such as canvas and clay. Campers will have the opportunity to express their creativity while making their own creations and experimenting with new materials.
