Countdown to CGI 2021!
We are working hard on our plan to safely operate our in-person summer programs for Summer 2021 at near-full capacity. As always, the physical and emotional health and safety of our campers and staff is our top priority and we are committed to continuing our pattern of open communication with you. As we continue to monitor COVID-19 developments as they emerge, we will share any updates to our camp programs and policies.

Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Will CGI be running an in-person program for Summer 2021?
YES! Following the success of last year’s socially-distant modified program, it has become clear that a CGI summer is possible while adhering to a strict set of CDC + ACA COVID-19 safety guidelines. We are planning to once again operate an in-person summer camp program at near-capacity to safely give our campers the summer of a lifetime! As COVID developments continue to emerge, we are working with an expert group of camping professionals to ensure that our program will be a winning combination of safety and Jewish fun rolled into one.

  1. What will an in-person camp program look like in 2021?
Last year’s program included significant adjustments to our usual programming such as: shorter camp days, socially distant pods, no off-site trips, daily temperature checks, updated decreased group sizes, and more. This year’s program will certainly see some of the modifications that we incorporated last year along with aquatic activities, field trips that are in accordance with CDC guidelines, regular camp hours, and hot lunch. In the current scenario we may need to adjust our health protocols and programming to ensure for the safest summer possible in 2021, and we will communicate any adjustments as we move along through the year.

  1. What medical professionals are involved in decisions related to camp programming?
Our medical decisions are guided by our camp Doctor, as well as the guideline set forth by the American Camp Association, local experts in IL, and the CDC. We have also incorporated much of what we have learned from safely operating camp last year in creating this year’s program.

  1. If I rolled over my 2020 tuition, do I still need to register now?
Thank you for your commitment to CGI! We were so moved by the families who were able to roll over their tuition dollars for this year, ensuring the financial stability of CGI! If you rolled over your 2020 tuition, you do not need to make a payment at this time, but you will need to register your child on Ultracamp to reserve the space. New families or families who dd not roll over 2020 tuition funds, must register on Ultracamp to take advantage of early bird pricing and reserve a space for your child.

  1. If camp is cancelled due to COVID, will I get a refund?
Until February 15, 2021 all payments are fully refundable (including the $200 deposit). In the event that we cannot safely operate our summer programming in 2021, families will be eligible for a full refund, opportunity to maintain their credit for a future summer or donate funds.

Should your family choose to cancel your registration after February 15, 2021 due to health concerns, please contact our office to discuss refund opportunities.

  1. Will my 2020 scholarship apply in 2021?
If you applied for or were awarded a CGI scholarship in 2020 and your fees were credited to 2021, your 2020 rates are still valid.

If your fees were not rolled over to 2021, you can apply for a scholarship here. Please Note: If you do plan to request financial aid for this year, please apply ASAP.
